Badger Out

In Chapter 2 of Great Expectations, badger out means to force someone to reveal something by persistent questioning, teasing, or pressure. 

The verb to badger originally referred to the cruel old sport of badger-baiting, in which dogs harass a badger until it is exhausted. From this came the figurative meaning of badger out: 
Here Pip wants to know the meaning of "hulks". Joe Gargery explains him what it is. Then comes his next question. Here, his sister Mrs Joe interferes and asks him to "get along to bed." 
Get along to bed is a casual British way of telling or advising someone to go to sleep or head to bed.

Harun al Rashid on his roaming the country side, saw a fisherman who did not have any catch for the day and worried about his family's bread. The Caliph had brought him to the banks of Tigris and asked him to throw the net. When they pulled the net the catch was a locked heavy chest. The Caliph paid him one hundred dinars. When the story was completed by the young man the king was astonished. "By God, I will hang none," said the king. But he had already decided to find out the slave who played trick on the young man. He said to Ja'far, "Go to the city and bring the slave, or I will strike your neck." Ja'far left in tears in search of the slave. How could he identify the slave who snatched the apple from the young man's son. He thought, "There is no escape from death this time, for the jar cannot be saved everytime.
