Lor a mussy me

A regional old fashioned expression meaning "Lord, have mercy on me!"

It is a mild oath or euphemistic expression used to show surprise, shock, or sudden burst of emotion/ impatience.

The term appears in 19th century literature and regional dialects in both UK and USA.  It is famously used by Mrs Joe in chapter 7 of Charles Dickens's Great Expectations.
