Corn-chandler

Corn-chandler is retail seller in grains such as wheat, oats, or maize along with related animal feed.  Dating back to the 17th century the word combines corn, meaning grain with chandler, meaning retail trader.  Chandler originally meant candle maker, and it evolved to describe a retailer.
