Sherry Wine and Port Wine

Both are port wines and they come from different places and have quite different characters.  The main ingredient in both is grapes.  The important technical difference is that in making port, brandy is added while grape juice is still fermenting.  This stops fermentation and leaves natural grape sugar resulting in sweet wine.  Sherry is Spanish origin and Port is Portugal origin.
