Marco Polo's Voyage to Indian Seas: 10: The Kingdom of Ferlech.

In that of Ferlech are Saracen merchants who come with their vessels and have converted people to the law of Mohammed; but only in cities, for those in the mountains live like brutes, eating the flesh of men and of vilest animals.  They worship various objects, particularly the first thing they meet after rising in the morning.

1. Ferlech : Likely the state of Perak in Malaysia. The discovery of a skeleton in Perak exposed a missing link on the migration of Homo Sapiens from Mainland Asia to Australia. The skeleton is 10000 years old.
